Join Artpace for the unveiling of Gary Sweeney's WindowWorks piece at ArtPace on
May 13, 2004, 6:30-7:30 PM. Sweeney, whose often humorous work uses found
commercial signage and other objects to create images and messages, has produced an
installation for Artpace's Main Avenue windows, activating this downtown thoroughfare
for passers-by.

Additionally, throughout the spring semester, Sweeney worked with more than 100
art students at Fox Tech High School on the planning and creation of a permanent
installation for the school's campus (located just blocks north of Artpace on Main
Avenue).

At the unveiling and reception, Sweeney will discuss his work as well as the
collaboration with Fox Tech students. The piece at Fox Tech (above) is a rebus--spelled
out through a system of pictures and symbols developed by the students. And its message
is an uplifting one: 'Here at Fox Tech, we think that we can change the world!' Come see
what Sweeney has created for ArtPace.
